Na, the Chargers don't have the T.O. factor that pushes away some very good coaches. you will see some good coaches come out of the wood work to work with a team like the Chargers

i kinda agree with this but also kinda think the other way
Coaches are egotistacal.. thats all there is to it. They want to come in and show that they can "control T.O." any new young coach in the league that probably is going to be a good coach would love that job.. a seasoned vet on teh other hand would possibly stray away from it and not want to "tarnish his legend"
Problem is that a coach who goes to San Diego now knows that he's just a low man on the totem pole. If the GM can, in effect, run off Marty, then what power will they have? Not to mention, both coordinators are gone, and a couple assistants.
The reason most teams fill their coaching vacancies quick is so they aren't behind, can work on their needs/wants, players that interest them, be it free agents or draft, and now here San Diego is, way behind.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
Head a rumer that Pete Carrol was possabley interested
Hope he goes. I don't like the Chargers and Carrol has a less than stellar record as a NFL coach.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
I heard this morning that Nick Saban has already called the Chargers and told them that he was ready for a change.

LOL
Good call on Saban
I heard that the Chargers would of course want Carrol, but ...shoot why would he give up being the kind of SoCal to being controlled by a GM.

Carrol will not go to San Diego, and if he does he is nuts. in two years he would be fired and then out of a job.
i also don't think dallas waited so long because they couldn't find a coach, but just because jerry jones wanted to "get it right". dallas will always be able to find a coach of some sort. also with parcells leaving so late, most of the better candidates were already gone. but the firing of shottenheimer is a mistake. hes a good coach. if rivers wouldve had more experience, i think the chargers may have won it all.
They have a good team, a young QB that has loads of potential. If they could get a coach in there that knows what he is doing, then they couldn't do that bad. Besides, they have a future hall of fame HB in LT. How bad could it be?
yeah..but now the Chargers have a team that went 14-2 last year with none of it's coordinators (o or d) returning and no head coach. They have always had talent but only 1 superbowl appearance. They are a prime example of a team that can't win a championship because of the ownership.
